What are the Women Entrepreneurship Committees ?

The Women Entrepreneurship Committees at Chambers of Commerce were born from a 1999 agreement protocol between Ministry of Industry and National Unioncamere with the intention of reproducing, at provincial level, the Committee provided for by Law 215/92 about women entrepreneurship. Then the protocol was renewed for other three years in 2003.

The Committees are composed of territorial representatives of professional unions and they promote and aid the development of women enterprises, qualifying them and customizing the assistance on the basis of requirements and peculiarities of provincial economy.

They promote specific training courses for aspiring women entrepreneurs and women entrepreneurs, and meetings and activities connected with this topic.
Moreover they can organize counters for first guidance and assistance to aspiring women entrepreneurs about procedure for starting new activity and they can give information about main financial , regionwide and nationwide, concessions in support of youthful and female enterprises, with particular attention to Law 215/92 “Positive actions for women entrepreneurship”.

The Committees have increased the awareness of the institutions regarding female entrepreneurship, and this has led to a closer cooperation, targeted and focused information and guidance, development of long-lasting agreements, detailed analysis of enterprises at local level, the creation of women entrepreneurship awards and the support for internalization of female entrepreneurs.
